Set Up see video here
There is a place in southwest Virginia where a river runs through the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
--show background picture of mountains and river not on website

In that place there came to be a little Ark, which drew all kinds of people.
--two or three people bring the boat onstage

Sharing Gifts
Each person came with a special gift, and those gifts helped the little ark travel along the river
--members bring a paddle, a mast, a sail, a steering wheel, a compass, and a map
  --start to “use” these things
--slides of relationship along with “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”
see it here

Growth and Change
The river soon began to change.  The water got choppy, and they headed toward some rapids.
--sound effect of rapids see it here
Some people had to get out of the boat, and new people came in.  The people on the boat did their best to keep
paddling, to hoist the sail, to find their way with the compass and map.
--people act out paddling, swaying, etc.
--slides of the changes (people who have left, new people, new jobs, etc)
--song “Collide” by Howie Day (see me about this)

Shared Spiritual Life
Soon the people got tired of paddling.
  --people act this out
The map and compass got wet.
--people shake the objects, turn them upside down to try to read
see it here
The steering wheel and sail weren’t working well
--person turns the wheel to no effect, look at sail which is limp
It was clear that they needed help.  They joined hands and began to pray.
  --people on boat do this
  --slides of Spiritual Life Nights
unseen but see it here
  --song “God of Wonders”
God gave them what they needed to continue along the river.
--sail is lifted, people show joy, start to cheer

Community
And so, with people working together and God being the wind in their sail, the little ark flows with the river and the people celebrate
and share life.

  --people sing adapted “Community Song”
--slides of events, sports, fun, jobs
see it here
--possibly instrumental music softly in background

Hope and New Beginnings
No one really knows what is around the next bend in the river.  We only know we will keep growing and changing.  Each
goodbye always brings another welcome.  Each end is a new beginning.  Adding our second home will not create two
little arks, it will simply lengthen the ark we have now.
--people unfold the boat and stretch it out.
--video testimonies of hopes for future
  --possibly slides of property?
  --Enya music

And everywhere we go, we’ll build community.
--people sing as they leave the stage

Adapted Community Song

It’s you, it’s me, it’s God that builds community
It’s you, it’s me, it’s God that builds community
It’s you, it’s me, it’s God that builds community
It’s us that builds community.
We’re rolling over the river
With God and you and me.
Everywhere we go we build community.
We’re rolling over the river
With God and you and me.
Everywhere we go we’ll build community.
