Solidarity
Solidarity... we are all in solidarity with one another! We are all living,
growing, and building relationships with one another!
In L'Arche solidarity is present in many different forms. Solidarity between
individuals with in each community, solidarity between the community and
L'Arche, solidarity between L'Arche communities with in our region, and
solidarity between each community through out the world.
In the Eastern Region, of the USA zone, of which L'Arche Blue Ridge is a part,
solidarity takes on yet a more personal meaning. We are in solidarity with the
L'Arche communities in Mexico. This means we take trips, we exchange
Christmas cards, we share in each others triumphs and sorrows together. We
support one another in whatever ways we are able. The Eastern Region tries to
send the communities in Mexico funds and support as much as possible. This is
because the Mexico does not support adults with intellectual disabilities.
Yet we have so much to learn from one another. So many laughs to share with one another. So many smiles
to exchange with one another and through solidarity we have so many ways to be with one another

Solidarity
by Leonidas Proano
To always hold one's ear attentive
to hear the cry of pain of others
and listen to their plea of help...
is solidarity.

To always hold ones eyes and ears
attentive to the ocean
in search of a cast away in danger...
is solidarity.

To feel as one's own
the suffering of a
brother or sister
near or far;
to make one's own
the anguish of the poor
is solidarity.

To become the voice of the humble,
to uncover injustice and evil,
to denounce the unjust and the evil doer...
is solidarity.

To allow one's self to carry a message
full of hope, love and peace, until it squeezes the hand of a
brother or sister...
is solidarity.

To transform one's self into a messenger of a sincere
and fraternal embrace that one nation sends to other
nations...
is solidarity

To share the danger of struggle
to live in justice and freedom
risking everything with love, even life...
is solidarity

To surrender one's self for love, even one's life is the
is the greatest use of friendship.
TO LIVE AND DIE WITH JESUS CHRIST
IS SOLIDARITY!
